Gotta say I would never have predicted this in a million years. I think we’re witnessing something pretty historic with his victories, lead in the polls (so far), and over the top style. There’s lots of commentary out there with theories of how this came to be and the how it will play out – but there’s no question the Republican “establishment” is pulling its hair out over Trump’s success. (Wasn’t the big money on Bush?).

    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/430126/donald-trump-conservatives-oppose-nomination

Seems many folks have now gotten to the point where they’re so sick and tired of the politics as usual that they want something different. Of course his anti-PC and off-the-cuff remarks are a striking change – even refreshing -- from the canned speeches of the other candidates.

What do you guys think? Will Trump take it all the way? Can he beat "her"? Are the other (R) candidates and the RNC going to take him down? Is his popularity a good or bad thing?

Not taking sides here… Just interested in perspectives.

Appalling to say the least. Embarrassing that such a pompous *** that has said many disparaging statements to ethnic minorities, women, and even fellow running mates is so revered, especially when he has to date not offered up any substantive policy details to make America great again. It's reality TV gone politics.....

If I were a member of the Republican Party (and I'm not), I would be embarrassed. Hard to pick which is the worse candidate, him or Palin. At least Palin held an elected office....

I'm still hoping that at some point the majority of the population comes to their senses and ends this circus. If not, perhaps it will help Hillary gain the Presidency after all by weakening the Republican vote if Trump gets the nomination.

I think that no matter who wins, America loses. No matter who gets nominated on the republican side, I don't think that they will be able to win the election. Even if they do, there really isn't any pick I like out of this clown car full of choices. The three people I would least like to see running the country are Trump, HIllary and Bernie. I don't believe that Grandpa Bernie will be nominated, but that still leaves the other two......

"The American people deserve the President they elect." I believe so said by Jimmy Carter who himself was a very nice, honest man but not a very good President.

What else is there to be said than this? Regardless of one's opinion of the man, the fact that anyone could be so party blinded that they feel Hillary is still a good option is what's appalling and, quite frankly, shocking. Trump represents a change from everything that is wrong with this country. Everyone in charge got there on the pocketbooks of someone else, and owes allegiance to those people and their agendas. Trump won't feel he owes anyone but the public. How well he can do, who knows. I bet it's just as good as what we've gotten so far. "YES WE CAN!!!" I wonder how all of you that bit that worm and got caught feel now?

This is the best thing to happen in our nations politics in my lifetime. the age of career politicians gaming us with their sweet songs only to take office and work to maintain and expand their power could be over. There is no way Trump could do any worse than any of these career politicians.

This is the controlled burn before the rejuvenation of the political landscape. It's no surprise that the right is leading the way with true change and revolution.

I was hoping I could, in good conscience, vote for someone instead of voting against someone.

I think Trump might be a train wreck, but Hillary is unthinkable!

Well SWG, to me The Donald is a clown. I don't know if he would be an 'effective" president or a total failure.
But I am tired of American royalty ie the Kennedys, the Bushs, and the Clintons being in the political limelight.
For me I'd rather see Trump in office than that pandering shrew Hillary (makes me vomit to just think about that). Between him a Bernie Saunders I would again vote for Trump because Saunders promises all this free stuff (the Millennials just love this!) without explaining how we (the middle class) will pay for it all.

I've boiled it down. For me either Cruz or Rubio trump Trump. But if Trump trumps them then Trump must trump Hilary.

Trump seems to say what he wants without much thought of consequence or filtering - but it seems to resonate with the public - yes, he has said some very childish things - and I'm very surprised that someone who has built up an empire of wealth has those childish ways.
With that thought, I'm sure you could see similar behavior with CEOs of major corporations, successful corporations. Leaders tend to be way off the norm - and that seems to work - you want someone who is going to lead and get it done - not someone who tells/says things to look good, or to be liked by everyone.

Appreciate all the comments and observations. Tomorrow is a big day in many states and will help clarify how this plays out. Grab some popcorn and a cold beverage. Interesting times…

U guys prob know by now I'm a conservative. Lol predicting or predictions of trumps success as our leader is what worries me. I don't really know what he'll do or what he stands for. It could be great or it could be talk. Since I had the honor of speaking with Ted cruz on a conference call with a good friend of mine over a year ago he's been my go to. Yeah that's another name drop fisherofmrn lol. I understand him clearly. I think we have it won either way. Nobody can think the Bern or hillary are better options.

Trump is just a reality channel. Now the Republican Party finally got up off its arse to do what they should have done many months ago - starting to lead a concerted effort to thwart his candidacy. Not distancing himself from KKK is shameful. Let's hope America turns off this regrettable chapter in our history and the republicans nominate a candidate that could potentially be presidential. Otherwise they will donate the presidency to Hillary.

1.Hillary Clinton is a liar.I don’t mean this as political conjecture, but a proven, verifiable liar. She lied about the Irish peace process, her vote in favor of the Iraq war, her reason for illegally using a personal email server, that her family was dead broke when they left the White House, about landing under sniper fire in Bosnia, where Chelsea was on 9/11, who she was named after, Benghazi… and the list goes on. We don’t need a liar-in-chief. We tried that already. It didn’t work.
