IMG_1325.JPG IMG_1327.JPG IMG_1328.JPG Out lurking this morning looking for a spottie bite....It's been real slow lately. Stopped at a good spot this morning and got three nice spotties. Not big numbers but they were real nice quality. Can't get the fish to bite in the same spot
2 days in a row. Hopefully it will get better soon. Still fishing....tight lines

This morning was super slow for me in mission bay as well. Caught a sand bass and a spotty, but much less action on my bait rod then the last few weeks. At least ya got a couple!

This is where fishing confuses me sometimes. I've often heard fishing before a storm is good, never worked out for me but then again I don't have the same level of experience as a lot of guys on here.

One thing that has worked for me is fishing when its raining and I would bet that this evening there is good fishing to be had.

I'm an advocate of spottie fishing the day before or on the leading edge of a storm. I've had some good scores doing that. Can't prove it but have always assumed that a fairly abrupt change in atmospheric pressure( like a change from high to low pressure) puts the spotties on the bite. Tight lines

Fresh water influx it seems to me always sets off a Perch bite in the surf . Caught some of my best just after a rain . WR Add / Edit the water is about the right temp as well

I've read that change from high to low pressure has an affect on fish swim bladder. When pressure is high it would be the same as we feel when bloated, as pressure drops the pressure on swim bladder drops and the fish feel relief and want to feed.
So many conditions, so many fish, so many places to fish, so many ways to fish...
