I apologize for my twin brother. Instead of being positive and hopeful about the future of San Diego fishing he is taking another pot shot at those "very fine people" in "The Lounge". Just because they sit behind their keyboards for hours espousing their opinions on conspiracy theories and constitutional rights doesn't mean you have to be so mean.

As Ronald Reagan famously stated, “There you go again”. Actually, due to being bored and not fishing I’ve been looking at “The Lounge” for the first time ever. I admit it’s kind of like looking at a bad car accident. You shouldn’t look but you look anyway. I just want to fish.

Where's Jim Brown when we need him?? He knows all the ways around the City B.S.! How's about we get rid of the wake boarders, skiers, and jet skiers? Before they started using our lakes, we didn't need to spend big bucks on Rangers and their expensive boats! Lakes used to be patrolled by a kid in a rental row boat! I don't care how much more the city says they make on the water sport boys..they have to spend way more on keeping them from killing themselves! It's amazing I can fish all the lakes in the Sierras without having babysitters and also not buying a permit! Oh..and city council morons, charge the people who walk and bike around Murray and Miramar..you'll make millions!..and why are we not hearing from the bass clubs?? Wait til they start closing lakes, you show up at Otay on a saturday and there's 15 clubs having tournaments..fish Armegeddon!

You guys need to check out the info Linebig posted #16 in this post and get involved and let your voice be heard.
Being professional is the best way to get something across to the city. Just follow the steps Rob suggested. I am working on my letter and if you want these lakes open and try to get back to normal now is your chance. Thanks Rob!

Maybe we should all hookup our boats,or kayaks and post up in front of the City Hall to show our force, shutting the lakes to fishing is not going to save money! How about charging for parking for the non fishermen who come down to the lakes? I see many people with their sport cars maybe they are clubs meeting up and taking photos they can pay $2 to park, hold club tournaments on the lakes on days that the lakes are normally closed and charge the clubs more money to run the tournament but it gives them the lake to their club. Food trucks down at the lakes or restaurant our lakes are very scenic and people would love to have a meal with the mountain and lake view. Raise price of the permits and launch fees marginally, ask retired military/law enforcement to volunteer as the park rangers. Crowd fund, donations to raise some money.

So many good points in this. We should come up with a strong case and try and have it presented. Is there anyone who is in charge of representing the greater San Diego fishing community in front of these higher ups making the decisions?

Anybody have an e-mail for the responsible parties so we can let them know how we feel and to make suggestions?

I have drafted about 6 paragraphs that I am going to fine tune and send in for the May 8 budget meeting that Rob
was talking about in #16. I think it is a chance to have our voices heard and the more the better I feel. Anyway, I hope some of you other guys send something.
    Here is what Rod posted.
    https://onbase.sandiego.gov/OnBaseAgendaOnline/

Just go to the May 8 Agenda and it will tell you how to submit something. It you do an email...it has to be in on May 7th.
Now is your chance to help try to get our lakes open rather than do nothing.
