Man, compared to other Sat resently today was empty. And that was crazy to see. We were able to have entire sections of the lake to ourselves for hours at a time.
Water at it warmest, very back Harveys. 89 degrees. Water mid lake 82. Too water is full swing. Some massive bait and some super tiny bait... all depends on where you are at that moment.

    Nice job guys!!!!
Match what they are eating is always a good call. It's getting the bass to eat your bait out of the thousands of shad they are chasing which looks like you did. A fun day catching bass and the lake was not crowded........WOW!...bet you guys had a blast!

It had to be from the night tournament. 100 boats it looked like waiting to launch when we got off the lake 6:30.

Looks like fun! Those are some healthy looking shad. The topwater bite everywhere has been so great lately.

Better question... how did you fish that bait ball in 10-20 feet? I saw that a couple times and got no love on the hardbaits. I almost pulled out the spoons.

That photo was cruising while fishing breaking fish. However yes, if they were not hitting the surface baits it would be something subsurface. Yesterday we tried our best to get fish under and through the bait. Even when we were landing top water Trev tossed lots of metal baits. Zero fish landed under them, less jerk baits.

I am not sure if you guys read the posts I just did on top water in the Fresh water section.

Yesterday was exactly as the article states.

Got there early and we could only get 1 fish to commit on my spinning rod on a boil by the boat while 4 lightly rolled on us further away on hard baits.

The big baits could get there yet we could not land any...the small baits were just short and if I got there they nipped at it. this went on for about an hour or more... Trev wanted to bail and I said..... no way. We need to see what happens.

Then it just flipped a switch. I picked up my small spinning rod and waited until the schools came by the boat.... while Trev kept at the fish blowing up way away with a heavy bait. All of a sudden it happened. I landed a fish by landing right on it and Bam it turned on the school. They stayed around the boat and now the hard baits worked as well. We went from 1 fish to 10 fish in less than an hour.

Trev laughed and said it was good we stuck around.

It was sun angle. The fish were not boiling any more than they were earlier yet it flipped and we smoked them for a while. After that we found numerous schools spread out and we hit them the rest of the day on top.

During the no fish time early 4 boats came and went.... even one of the boats that was there with us early left to go hit the shoreline. They did pick up a couple early yet the best was yet to happen.
