Wanted to head out possibly Sunday AM for a few hours to LJ possibly.
I’ve fished the jetty during king tides and I know they’re no joke.

swells don’t look to big and the wind is almost nonexistent in the morning. Looking for some insight if it’s even safe to take the bayrunner out the channel with the king tides.

No small craft advisory in our area for the weekend unlike OC/LA area but again just sketched out because I know what those rollers look like face to face lol.

The tide won't effect you boat other than speed against or with current . May make it a bit swirly right outside the channel mouth . The swell is forecast between 1.5 and 2.5 ft Not big by any standard . Winds are forecast to 5 mph or less , sounds like glassy . Will be off shore until about 10 or 11 o'clock . Depending on how you have your boat trimmed , with the trim set a bit out the boat will steer best in mid on a following swell , just stay on the backside of the swell when coming in the channel . If you surf in to much you get the feeling is going to plow in at the bottom and it will. , boat may feel like it wants to surge strong port or starboard when it happens . Your bay runner will do fine . Good luck Gabe . WR

10-4 that’s what I figured but man after having fished that jetty over crashing waves and seeing what king tides consist of, I was super hesitant.
but again, read reports for the weekend and the numbers looked great so just needed some reassurance.

You going to be out there? I’ll shoot you a text that morning! We can tune in to the same channel! :)
Hoping to be off the water around noonish myself.

Be aware... Nasty stuff coming Tues, maybe even nastier Thursday. That incredible bite that has been on for weeks may well come to a crashing halt all too soon... Take advantage while you can, IMO

Don’t have to tell me twice.
I saw that, weather/seas look nasty next week. Hoping to finally get on a ling and yellow. Long shot but always hopeful

Aside from that, sucks as I planned on taking some time off from work and hopping on a sporty this upcoming week… bummer but oh well.

Saw a couple yellows in close last Friday.. like ten feet of water or so. They only came up for a few minutes, but they were there..
