The bottom pic looks closest but still looks off a bit (tail especially), they get nowhere near 6ft i agree but to me it looked like the one in your profile pic is only 3-4ft that's why i said similar size.

It's fun poking around the hinterlands of South Bay -- high tide of course. Made a special trip for the power plant implosion in 2013.

The exact length was estimated, just figured it was more or less 6' since it was just about as long as most of our rods.

It's because the pic you're looking at is probably extreme negative tide and it's still submerged slightly. Generally it's just the jetty there and there's a couple feet of water before bottom.

Guess where I just beached? Btw, Southbay is WFO within 200 yards of the Grande Caribe. They're only wanting crustacean looking stuff though.

Just saw a few turtles but couldn't get a picture in time. At first I thought they were lions which threw me off because you never see those in Southbay. They're around though. Decent amount of boats out this morning but most have left now. I'm hearing some action at the 9 on the radio. Just farmed a massive hali thanks to my lack of a gaff.

They've got the whole bay, and they choose to go 4 feet away from me...

How was the fishing at the island?

It might be worth the trip just to catch a glimpse of those turtles. So cool that they live in the bay.

I wasn't getting anything there. It was low tide so it was super shallow. However, the thing was covered in fiddler crab and ghost shrimp holes. I'm sure it gets pretty good at high tide though.

I probably could have, don't know why I didn't. Good thing I had my dry bag with extra clothes as Fomen recommended.

Yup just cruise by and I'll wrap the trebles up in your sail for you lmao
But seriously this is a big safety issue that needs attention, many boats come way to close to others.
Last week on mission bay I had a guy turn out of his way to buzz my bow at full speed, how would everyone handle this?
