Must be good. Usually if the bite is really slow a lot of the old timers come home early and vent on this site lol

That's what I was guessing based on reading archived July Barrett reports. I even said that to someone I was talking to recently. I am a newbie, so not going with even those expectations on Sunday.

do I know this buddy of yours? Or did you make a mistake by adding a zero behind that 7? Honestly it was tough. I got 10 with a 4lbs kicker and MaskedFisherDude got around 25 which was the most I heard of today. Not saying 70 by 1pm is impossible, just saying it’s unlikely on a day like today.

Also wanted to add for those that were inquiring of the possibility of boats some time this season. The answer is NO. In fact they already removed all the boats from the docks except for the lake staff patrol boat.

Do bluegill count? I know Evan is looking forward to that bite as well.

I'm happy for all those that made it out there today & for posting your results!

Besides your fish count, who went deep into hauser or pine?

Water temp was 80° and 1-2 foot visibility. Lots of mew flooded trees along the shoreline as expected with the higher water levels. Not too much slime on the brush piles yet but it’s getting there.

Bluegill certainly count if you specify the species. Otherwise most people will assume that any fish count from Barrett are bass. I don’t know of anyone that went deep into the arms but I’m sure the guys in kayaks did just that and perhaps did put a phenomenal day together. All the guys we spoke to primarily fished the front of the lake to the rock wall towards Hauser and the main lake split. We did not fair too well.

It was slow for me, had to grind it out for 20. Had a couple 3's and a 5 the rest were in the 1 to 2 pound class. They didnt even touch my frog or fluke :(

Lots of water in the ol pond. Fishes very differently than years past. Boats still at docks but all motors are taken off. Was hoping for a least second change of heart. Frog bite was steady for my son and I but hard to get them to the tube with the barbs gone. We had about 20 between the two of us. Fish looked healthy. Lake looks great. Guys will figure out the new patterns with the added water. Guys who made it to the arms might have had better luck. The yakers and big leg tubers.
