    Hello,
I’m going out on first 2.5 day and am getting pumped! I’ve decided to wait until the day I️ leave to pick up any poppers/jigs in hopes that i’ll Get one good intel. Right now all I️ have are large jig heads with swim baits, large krocodiles, and bottom fishing set ups. Anything you reccomend besides using the live sardines on the boat? Thanks!

Glow in the dark flatfalls with the assist hooks changed out to a single hook on a split ring. The standard assist hooks wont hold up if you hook on a big one.. Good luck!

glow flat falls (at least 160 gram) and glow ahi assault diamond jigs 10 oz for when you are fishing in the dark/gray light

owner aki twist hooks 4/0 and 6/0 for fishing live squid....with sliding egg sinkers 1/4 oz to 2 oz probably and 2 oz - 6 oz torpedos and rubber bands

surface irons and megabaits always work too

May want to save your money on a popper. The summertime foamer bite is no longer in effect.

When are you going? I was going to do a 1.5 day this weekend then checked the weather and changed my mind.

I️ was out yesterday and live bait was all they were interested in. People were trying poppers, flat falls, colt snipers and irons. The only thing the fish were interested in were live bait.

Going out tonight, thanks again for the tips. I’ll save cash on a popper and try one of my buddies if they start hitting them. Thanks for the report backfisher!

I’ll make sure I post one as well when I get back.

Feeling like a kid on the last day of school right about now. All I can say is I appreciate all the knowledge I’ve been soaking up here, thanks again.

Start taking the Bonine now. It's gonna be a bit nautical for sure.

swell is a bit short period but wind shouldn't be terrible. guess it all depends on how prone to getting sick you are.

9ft at around 9-10 seconds. A handful of people have told me winds should be in the 30's tonight too. No thank you.

wind doesnt look bad tomorrow...little tough sunday....

swell 6 ft at 10 sec isnt ideal but not terrible.

Not gonna be ideal, but doesnt look like it would keep any boats tied up.

San Clemente Island | Complete Wind Report & Forecast

    and from NOAA

    TONIGHT
Wind NW to 10 kt. Gusts to 15 kt in the evening. Wind
waves 2 ft or less. Mixed swell W 3 to 4 ft at 12 seconds and SW
    3 ft at 15 seconds.

    VETERANS DAY
    Wind variable less than 10 kt...becoming W 10 to
15 kt in the afternoon. Wind waves 2 ft or less. Mixed swell W
    2 to 3 ft at 7 seconds and S 3 ft at 15 seconds.

    SAT NIGHT
Wind NW 10 to 15 kt. Wind waves 3 ft in the
evening...becoming 2 ft or less. Mixed swell W 2 to 3 ft at
    6 seconds and S 3 ft at 15 seconds.

    SUN
Wind NW to 10 kt...becoming W in the afternoon. Gusts to
20 kt. Wind waves 2 ft or less... becoming 3 ft in the afternoon.
    Mixed swell W 2 to 3 ft at 6 seconds and S 3 ft at 14 seconds.

    SUN NIGHT
Wind NW 10 to 15 kt. Wind waves 3 ft in the
    evening...becoming 2 ft or less. Swell W 2 to 3 ft at 6 seconds.

and I'm not kidding myself, I know the wind/weather is building out there and gonna suck next week and can very well hit earlier. Just if it stays the way it looks, its fishable.

edit: that combo swell probably wont be fun though
