  2. Lobby for criminals to give up their guns?

  3. Bolster you home's security?

So why was "personal responsibility" not sufficient for the recent NRA rally in Dallas?
If people, not guns are the problem then why did they allow people but ban all weapons (incuding selfie sticks) from this NRA rally?
Why were people's second amendment rights infringed upon at a rally for an organization that is ONLY about second amendment rights?!
What was the "not common sense" here?

Common sense would tell you having the VP attend poses a huge security risk. The amount of money you would have to spend to ensure everyone attending wasn't a leftist loon or terrorist would be astronomical.

I know it is easy to get tripped up parroting the latest joke from Steven Colbert, but the NRA didn't restrict people from owning (keep and bear) firearms. The NRA (a private organization) said you can't bring a gun into a private event. Same thing happens when I go to the gym. My gym doesn't allow me to bring a weapon (gun, knife, etc.) into their facility. Are they infringing on my right to own a gun? No.They are a private organization with rules. If I don't like the rules, I don't have to go to their gym. It's almost an impossibility for the NRA to infringe on your right to own a firearm.

This is why you have to educate yourself by means other than Facebook or late night tv. Learning how things actually work may give you a whole new perspective.

Yes, they are a private organization who's message is MORE guns make people MORE safe. Shouldn't they have been worried about an "outlaw" sneaking a gun in and then no "good guys " with a gun are there to stop him?
Using NRA "logic" letting anyone carry at the rally should have made it a safe, secure place.

Since the VP was at the convention, the Secret Service ran security, not the NRA. If the NRA wants the VP at the convention, they follow Secret Service protocol. You know that.

I know it's more fun to mindlessly parrot late night tv jokes and talking points because you don't like the current Administration, but it really makes it hard to consider your viewpoints when you choose to ignore simple facts.

Yes, I know it was the secret service.
I'm not sure what late night jokes your refering to but I am not ignoring facts.
    For example, here's a fact.
The secret service said since the vp is going to be at a PRO-GUN rally, for SAFETY reasons, NO GUNS.
