When I was a teenager living in the boonies in Alaska I had a Remington 22 with a clip, semi automatic, I could empty the clip pretty fast, then just replace the magazine. It didn't look like an assault weapon but could still do some damage. All.of the kids had rifles and shotguns. We would remove the plug from the shotguns to hold more shells. We would hunt and fish and carry our weapons openly and no one thought anything about it.
The only way to get there was to fly in.
One law enforcement person for hundreds of miles to cover. No one ever killed anyone while I was living there.
Every one just made their living. No house break-ins because everyone had weapons.

Sounds like the dream to me. Alaska is definitely in the top three coolest places I've ever been. I've got the same gun somewhere in my garage.

You are damn right as semi auto rifles have been around for over half a century. The real issue is the schools teaching bullying is the equivalent of murder. There for giving those bullied the right to kill.

I sure hope you're right. I just hope when I have kids one day they'll be able to enjoy growing up with the same liberties as I did.

We will have to agree to disagree there, I used to think as you myself. But I have since changed, I hope you someday do as well, I think the gun community needs to if it's going to survive.

What type of gun laws would you like, the problem is that they can’t enforce the laws that we already have. The last 2 series of shootings the government people knew about it but didn’t do any thing. There is no way to keep guns out of the hands of people that want them. Bad happening out there.

Your right Robbie, but taking away the weapon of choice isn't going to change anything. Something else will just take it's place. As the population grows their will be more unstable people to deal with.

Really so the second amendment didn't say "the right to bear arms shall not be infringed?"

A well regulated meant a well maintained weapon when the constitution was written. Nice try but learn some history.

Never said that you wanted to ban anything. Just pointing out about the weapon of choice if ban would just be replaced with something else.
Just think if a bunch of kids were hanging out in a large group and some wacko kid went to the parking lot and got into his car and plowed into them. Cars are easy to come by.
We have laws on the books now, but just like locks only keep the honest people out.

No, I want to lead us down the path Japan, Australia, U.K., Canada, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, the list goes on, and have common sense gun laws for the 21st century. I think the USA could learn from others. Mexico has gun deaths because we sell them our guns.

Absolute B.S. Mexico trades drugs for true weapons of war. Trust me the cartel is not waging war with semi auto ar15s they are using automatic ak47 up to mortars. Those are both illegal in US but nice try. Any other BS you want to attempt to pile on.
