Enough 1/2 to 2 oz for light fare, 6 or 8 oz sputnik for sharks .

    Water dictates what you need

For perch and other close to sand targets I'd use a 1/2 - 1 oz egg/slider.
For "further" out targets I use a 3oz sputnik.

Because clubbing the fish to death and snagging it is better than not catching anything? lol

Hey now. When werfless enters the surf with a fish club, the fish all have a chance to fight back. They actually do. How do you think he broke his ankle last year?

I caught a 4 lb job on the 20 foot rod about 5 minutes before I did so.. So I switched sides trying to get away from the fish I refuse to mention in my reports.. I hold those damn things responsible! 100%!
