Got off work early and stocked up on my go-to big hammer colorways and a picked up a few MC swimbaits to see if they would produce (they did). Spent 45min in mission (Dana landing and quivira) and got skunked...again. Then moved to Harbor Island. When we got there, apparently someone caught 3 legal halis and was on his 4th (broke his line). Caught some vampire looking fish haha. Did not want to stick my thumb in there. Put up a really good fight. Had to revive him for a few minutes..fell in the water doing so =( My friend caught 2 small calicos. Then moved to Coronado where we caught some dinks, but I ended the night with a legal. Fishing in wet shoes is not the business...

Shortfin Corvina. My personal favorite catch, use topwater and subsurface lures to target them!

Orange mouth and the fangs ID the Corvina. Can also be found in the South Bay, by Shelter Isle and off Pt Loma in the surf. Often confused with a White Sea Bass because sometimes the bass has barely discernable stripes. Be careful. BTW, tasty fish.
