Let's hear some recent Barrett updates? We haven't been out in a few weeks. How's algae bloom? Any Wolf Packs showing? I know it's been hot but in the past that meant epic early and sometime late bites? Anyone?

It has been slow and the heat isnt helping. Bloom looks worse in the arms and i havent seen a wolf pack in weeks. Lots of people were talking about a frog bitem but it didnt last long. I may take a few weeks off to let the bite pick back up.

Dang it. I bought my ticket for my first ever Barrett trip for next next Wednesday. I was hoping for it to be a good one but it may a bit slow. Oh well. I'll make the best of it and report back at the end of July

Fished Wednesday and it was on the slow side. Clear skies and hot heat didn't help anything. Algae is there and thick in some areas and not so much in others. I would definitely concentrate on the cleaner areas and steer clear of the blooms. I saw no wolf pack action, but we left super early due to outside reasons. Got em on fly lined plastic jerk baits and the Sammy. Had a some blow ups on the rat and dumped a nice one next to the boat. Pops got a nice one on a fly-lined micro plastic. We were moslty in Hauser and got most of our fish off ledges with cleaner water.

Frog Bite, Early and Later, Senko was fire for my friends. Reaction bite is there, rattle trap and Chatterbait. Only caught two on dropshot to break up the no bite syndrome. Rest of my fish were Frog, Rattletrap, Chatterbait. Fun, Fun, Fun. Its nice to be able to power fish.

Have not been there since I was almost consumed by a mountain lion but what I do know is that the Bluefin tuna are biting with no mountain lions in the area....

I was just browsing youtube for vids of Barrett and these guys went out July 8th and did pretty well, even landed an 8lber.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3tSd_kx3N4

The 8lber hookset is around 53secs.

I haven't heard of anyone catching a bass that big out of Barrett this year but I'm getting excited again. Can't wait till next Wednesday!

Not sure what is going on at Barrett, reports coming in seem slow, but on a bright note the Bluefin are still biting and on a hot day it's about 75 degrees out there...

First off I clearly see barbs on that blue topwater shad imitation lure thingy. Second, it's a catch and release fishery but it looks like you stabbed that fish in the head and killed it on purpose. Your lucky DFW wasn't there. :emoji_cry::emoji_open_mouth::emoji_sweat:
