    Hey everyone
checked the predicted grunion charts, should have a busy 4 days ahead of us. Anyone know what beaches the grunion usually frequent? I would love to take my family to see one, not even for fishing but just to observe. if anyone could provide any insight, I would be forever indebted

from what i understand, they frequent areas with little light and "vibrations" and what not. I noticed that blacks beach is pretty closed off from the public, and it doesn't have a lot of light pollution/people at night. However I never really saw reports that they frequent that area so I'm conflicted on info here

Saturday and Sunday are predicted to run from around 9:30 to 11:15-12 AM, would they run during those times or still after 2 AM?

I remember when I would go beach camping at the Silver Strand when I was a kid, the grunion would run through there at night.

well fellas, given that the beaches all around CA are closed for the weekend, seems San Diego might turn into the next Walking Dead. If yall plan on fishing do ur best to keep some distance, might be impossible to cast from shore and not hit a person in the water

Saw a quote in the LA Times that Carlsbad is closed to fishing from shore. No one said anything to me when I was out yesterday

Part of the thing about the grunion runs is you never know which beach they will be at in big numbers. Just pick any beach and stay there instead second guessing if you should have went somewhere else. This big waves are the ones that will wash enough of them far enough up the beach to get a good sighting. Fan out along the beach to cover more ground. Whenever someone yells out that they see some then sprint over to that spot. The middle and last half of the predicted runs are usually best but it's not an exact science.
