I have been kayak fishing around the sd river a bit. I have caught one fish and it was on a White chatter bait. I am wondering wear to go and what to use. I am on summer break and want to catch bass. What place is doing amazing with bass other than barret.

Doing amazing, with bass... Hmmm.. be ready for a long learning curve. Better off hitting the bays for the saltwater bass, especially from the kayak...

Water temp is in the 80's at San V, El Cap, and Otay. If you fish early morning, or late afternoon, the bite will be good. Topwater, swimbaits, jerkbaits, and reaction baits are all working. If you want to catch as many bass as possible, I would recommend a fluke or a fancy suspending jerkbait (X-80 trick darter).
