That'd be really cool to get cobia up here! We need an influx of new species here... Lol!! Bonefish, corvina, stripers, and triggers have adapted well. I know there's been some jacks caught in the back bay. We need some more exotic species!

All the species you mentioned except the Jack's and stripers. Finescale triggerfish, shortfin corvina, and Cortez bonefish have always been here to my knowledge and from what I have heard from old timers.

Roncador , the jacks are native as well. The ones caught here when the power plant was running were green jacks, they have been caught as far north as Santa Cruz Island if memory serves

Green Jack's are but not jack crevalle. I've always heard that there were jack crevalle back there. Although as far as I can tell it was just green Jack's. Although there were giant houndfish. Still some small ones too.

    No such thing as
All the pictures I have seen from the back bay were green. I do know a PJC was confirmed, caught off south OC in the 90s

    Hmm...

I remember reading an article about the DFG (what they were called back then) planted some exotics in SD bay in the hopes a population would take hold. I thought some that were planted were the ones I previously mentioned except for the trigger. I guess my memory has failed me.

I've seem records where Stripers were planted from the Atlantic in the late 1800s, but the USGS database listed them as Native

Stocking and large vessel ballasts contribute to alot of speicies dispersion.

This is interesting because we were fishing at Harbor island a few days ago and Cooper was reeling in a small smooth hound and said a large fish with a yellow tail was following it in. Hmmmmmm?
