Around the Chesapeake Bay , Menhaden about 6 to 8 inches , Blue crabs , And eel imitations that we made from a 3 to 5 oz bucktails and a foot long section of rubber tube with stainless steel wire or cable to a tandem hook in the tail . Had to color them with felt tip marker . Just wasn't that good a selection of plastics , Tom Mann and Mister twister changed that though .Larger models of the jigs used to be good when the Stripers would hang around the base structure " Islands" of the then single Bay Bridge Tunnel . Cheers . WR

I'm pretty sure they are croakers. I see them at IB and OB all the time playfully cruising in pairs or small schools. They're not interested in anything en route to the surf zone.

I believe you, last year me and my buddy saw a group of about 4 cruising past the surf on the sunset cliffs side, threw some large krocodiles and got them to follow and even got one to bite but didn’t manage a hookup. They’re out there.

Those YT are still wet behind the ears. I’ve caught bigger macks. I know it’s legal to keep those baby YT, but perhaps you can use a little discretion next time and let them grow up.

I'd love to see pictures of the macks you caught that are bigger than the yellows pictured. Personally, if I catch some that size, they're going home with me.

Yeah, but I'm assuming he's talking our standard Pacific green back mackerel.

I was just being dumb.. as for Direct C51 , well, he can talk smack, yet he still seems new to our fisheries here.. whatever it takes, don't get me wrong.. if the guys threw back the big ones, there would be no problem.. loads of YT everywhere... Then again, what do I know?
