So I live in El Centro and fish the Colorado river, Ferguson and Martinez lake. It will be to hot for me soon so what I’m looking for is the following place that I can launch my boat, fish and than spend a night or two.
I have a 16’ Crestliner with a Yamaha 60horse 4 stroke. I won’t probably pitch a tent but just sleep in back of my pickup.
What lake would you all choose. Just trying to keep the boat in the water and not park it this summer. I’m retired so weekday fishing is best to avoid crowds but could go most any days.
    Any info appreciated
    Thanks
    Jay

Thanks for the reply. Can you launch your own boat or only rent one. I have fished Cuyamaca a few times while camping at Paso Picacho campground. Looking for mostly largemouth and not sure how good Cuyamaca is for them. Do you know?

If I'm not mistaken you can launch your own boat there and leave it tied up over night.

there are no bass in Cuyamaca

    :emoji_wink:

yes on private boats. if your boat doesn't pass quagga inspection, they have a hot water washdown so you cant get turned around

Morena is good for bass/camping....most likely, your boat will not pass the inspection though. I wouldn't even try it

Lake caistic is well worth the 3 hrs drive. I just went this weekend and loved it. The camping isn' the greatest, it' kinda like camping at carlssab state beach. You are reall close to eachother. The fishing is amazing both in the lagoon and the main lake. Check it out!! I took my kayak and didn' want to come back to san Diego. Nothing smaller then 3lbs all weekend.
