The 278 anglers checked at Barrett Lake last week reported catching 3,841 bass and 410 bluegill. That equates to almost 14 bass per angler, compared to almost 24 bass per angler for the opening week.

The bass fishing is still obviously very good, but it has certainly dropped off from the opener for most anglers – many of which are now reporting struggling to catch fish at all right now.
Senkos have begun to emerge as the dominant pattern as faster moving baits like flukes and spinnerbaits are no longer producing quite as well as a few weeks ago.
