  • The 235 anglers checked at Barrett Lake this last week reported catching 2,781 bass, 100 bluegill and 20 crappie. That comes out to nearly 12 bass per angler, a drop off from 14 bass per rod last week and 24 bass per for the opening week.

Frogs, senkos and flukes continue to produce for anglers fishing along the green flooded bushes and trees. Other anglers are finding consistent production out of plastic worms and deep diving crankbaits targeting rock piles and hard bottom areas offshore a ways.

Barrett continues to be the most bite friendly bass lake in town, and it’ll continue that way throughout the season – even if its slow by Barrett standards.
