Stripers and trout active as trout stocks continue at Diamond Valley

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Lake Hours: 5:45am — 4:30pm

Weather: The forecasts shows temperatures in the low 40’s to mid 80’s this week.

BASS

Bass slowed down this week. Anglers are still catching smaller bass between 2-3 pounds. Plastics work best in the pink and shad colors. Shad like lures and night crawlers also work great for bass.

STRIPER

There were many stripers caught between 5-10 pounds! Swim baits are working best for striper. When shad and trout are breaking the surface, it’s best to use lures that mimic them for top water boils.

CATFISH

Few catfish were caught between 5-6 pounds. Mackerel, shrimp and nightcrawlers work best for catfish.

PANFISH

Panfish slowed down this week, yet anglers are still catching panfish under a pound. Night crawlers and mealworms work best for panfish.

TROUT

There were a many reports of trout caught this week. Most were caught between 5-7 pounds! Night crawlers and mini jigs work best for trout. Adrian Contreras of Yucaipa Valley caught a 5.93 pound trout using a B-line Jig on shoreline.
