El Capitan Reservoir Fish Report – 5/14/17

  • The water temperature is approximately 69 degrees along the surface. Bass have been moving away from shore. There are reports of bass being caught on reaction baits early in the morning, then moving to a drop shot presentation later in the morning. Start with spinnerbaits, crankbaits and of course tried and true shiners, and then go with plastic worms or fly-lined nightcrawlers later.

    Bluegill are starting to bite and not many people are fishing for this great panfish so come try your luck. We have only had a few anglers come out for catfish as well and they have reported catching their limit.
