Lower Otay Lake Fish Report – 10/4/15

  • Content Ad
  • The 93 anglers checked at Lower Otay last week reported catching 146 largemouth bass and 20 bluegill. Bass continue to break the surface while feeding on shad in the middle of the two arms. Small shad imitators and light line cast immediately upon the boils will produce bites on those schooling fish.

Boat launching conditions are good with the lake 10.4 feet below spill level. The surface temperature was not reported this week.

Lower Otay is open for fishing on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule. Boat rentals are available, but the concession may close with little to no warning. Please call ahead at (619)397-5212 to confirm operating schedule.
