  • The big story was that one of those bass was reported at 14.3 pounds, caught on a crawdad on Saturday by a Ashley Hayden of Lakeside. This is the biggest reported bass of the year in San Diego, congrats to Ashley!

Check out our freshwater reports forum for several recent Lower Otay fishing reports from our members.

Boat launching conditions are good with the lake 10.4 feet below spill level. The surface temperature was not reported this week, but forum members report temps in the mid to high 50s.

Lower Otay is open for fishing on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule. Boat rentals are available, but the concession may close with little to no warning. Please call ahead at (619)397-5212 to confirm operating schedule.
