  • Bluegill fishing has been off the hook! We are seeing baskets full with the size of the fish getting larger.

Frogs seem to be the food of choice for the bass, so hollow body frogs have been working fished in and around the tules. Fly-lining senkos and nightcrawlers have also been working well for bass.

Some of the guys fishing for bass have reported catching some of the largest bluegill they have seen, catching them on small crankbaits and fly-lining large nightcrawlers.

Jean Currey of La Jolla caught 6 bluegill for a total stringer weight of 6.5 pounds – the largest single fish going 1.75 pounds. Currey was fishing with nightcrawlers in Harvey Arm.

Just a couple of catfish were caught this week by the same two guys that caught them last week.
