Lower Otay Lake Fish Report – 8/27/17

  • The surface temperature was around 78°. The foggy mornings are contributing to the long morning bite, but bass are moving out into deeper water.

    The regulars seem to be very happy with this year’s bass bite. It is still recommended that you use jerkbaits and frogs in and around the tules. The ole’ standby Senkos have been working as well.

    The bluegill bite has slowed a bit but some fishermen did find a hold hole that produced several nice fish.

    Catfish fishing is on the rise with catfish being caught in Bushlow Cove.
