Lower Otay Lake Fish Report – 8/6/17

  • The bass have been moving out into deeper water in the evening. It is recommended that you use jerkbaits and frogs in the tules, senkos have also been producing.

    Bluegill numbers are good with some nice fish in the 1 pound range showing up in the mix.

    A couple of nice catfish came in this week, led by a 28.65 pounder caught by John Talbert of Anaheim on August 5th. Talbert was fishing near the dam with mackerel, and had 5 total catfish weighing 60.45 pounds that day.

    The water temperature is about 79• on the surface.
