Lake Conditions- Surface temperature is 44.5 Fahrenheit. The water visibility is about 2 to 4 ft., Lake Gauge is at 79.04.
Trout – This week we got another 200lb plant from CA DFW, Trout anglers continue to catch them here and there but not in enough numbers to limit out yet. Recommended baits would be Power bait, Rapala Countdowns, Kastmasters, Thomas Buoyants or night crawlers.
Bass – Wyatt Daniels out of Campo came in this week with a bass estimated between 7-9 lbs caught off a MC Swimbait. Tommy Bossard from Jacumba also pulled an 8lb 4oz largemouth off a swimbait, both bass were successfully released. Your best bet is senkos, swim baits, rattle traps, crank baits, drop shot rigs, or jigs.
Catfish – Catfish also continue to be caught mostly on cut mackerel. Good choice of baits would be mackerel, night crawlers, Bonita or chicken liver.
Blue Gill & Crappie –Your best bet for baits is crappie jigs, small crank baits, or mealworms.
Boat Launch conditions: Private boat launch is closed until further notice.
The speed limit on land and water is 10mph. Before launch all boats will be inspected for Quagga. Boats must be CLEAN and DRY. If you do not pass inspection you will not be able to launch for that day. The launch fees are $5.00 per day. Motorboats, kayaks, canoes, float tubes and sailboards must pay fee.
The lake is open daily for fishing and boating. Park hours for fishing and day use are from sunrise to sunset. No swimming at Lake Morena Park. Motorboats and rowboats are available for rent 7 days a week. Motorboats rent for $30 M-F and $50 S-S. No reservations taken on boats. Fishing permits M-F for Adults $5.00, Youth age 10 to15 $2.00, Seniors 62+ $3.00. Weekends and Holidays for Adults $7.00, Youth $3.00, Seniors $5.00.

South Shore Campground: Reservations are recommended for camping at the main campground on the South Shore. This campground offers partial hookup sites (water and electric), as well as several developed sites. The main restroom offers hot showers and flush toilets, and is handicapped accessible. Lake Morena dump station is currently-OPEN.
North Shore Primitive Campground: This campground is closed until further notice.
