  • Lake Conditions- Surface temperature is 60 Fahrenheit. The water visibility is about 2 to 4 ft., Lake Gauge is at 79.04.

    Trout – The trout continue to bite just off to the right of the boat dock as well as down towards the dam. Recommended baits would be Power bait, Rapala Countdowns, Kastmasters, Thomas Buoyants or night crawlers.

    Bass – Ryan Ashby from Lakeside caught a 10lb 6oz Largemouth this week on a night crawler in Geezer Cove. Your best bet is senkos, swim baits, rattle traps, crank baits, drop shot rigs, or jigs.

    Catfish – Good choice of baits would be mackerel, night crawlers, Bonita or chicken liver.

    Bluegill & Crappie – Your best bet for baits is crappie jigs, small crank baits, or mealworms.

    CarpCarp can still be seen all over the lake up near the banks and on the surface from early in the morning into the late afternoon.

    Boat Launch conditions: Private boat launch is closed until further notice.

    The speed limit on land and water is 10mph. Before launch all boats will be inspected for Quagga. Boats must be CLEAN and DRY. If you do not pass inspection you will not be able to launch for that day. The launch fees are $5.00 per day. Motorboats, kayaks, canoes, float tubes and sailboards must pay fee.

    The lake is open daily for fishing and boating. Park hours for fishing and boating is from sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset, day use is from sunrise to sunset. No swimming at Lake Morena Park. Motorboats and rowboats are available for rent 7 days a week. Motorboats rent for $30 M-F and $50 S-S. No reservations taken on boats. Fishing permits M-F for Adults $5.00, Youth age 10 to15 $2.00, Seniors 62+ $3.00. Weekends and Holidays for Adults $7.00, Youth $3.00, Seniors $5.00.
