Lake Morena Fish Report – 6/4/17

  • Catfish fishing is starting to pick up. A few 2 pounders were caught using nightcrawlers and mackerel. Paradise Cove, Geezer Cove and the T-dock are the best spots.

    The trout bite has slowed but is still good. Folks are still limiting out off the T-dock. A 3.5 pounder was caught on a nightcrawler and others reported on Powerbait.

    The bass fishing has really picked up lately. Several double digit bass were caught on jerkbaits this week including a 12 pounder! A couple 9 pounders were caught by an angler throwing a bluegill swimbait.

    A couple 1 pound crappies were caught this week on mealworms. A few 3-5 pound carp were reported also, caught on doughballs and corn.

    • State fishing license is required

    The Lower Boat Launch Ramp is open. All vessels must pass a Quagga Inspection (clean, drained and dry).
