  • Lake Conditions- Surface temperature is 75 Fahrenheit. The water visibility is about 2 to 4 ft., Lake Gauge is at 80.16.

    Trout – No reports this week. Recommended baits would be Power bait, Rapala Countdowns, Kastmasters, Thomas Buoyants or night crawlers.

    Bass – Stephen Washer from Boulevard came in this week with a massive Bass weighing in at exactly 10 pounds; this bass was reported to be caught on a swimbait and was successfully released. Your best bet is roboworms, senkos, swim baits, rattle traps, crank baits, drop shots, or jigs.

    Catfish – Constant flow of anglers reporting limits of catfish in several different locations mostly on cut mackeral. Good choice of baits would be mackerel, night crawlers, Bonita or chicken liver.

    Bluegill & Crappie – No actual reports this week of Bluegill or Crappie being caught but they are beginning to be seen towards the surface on occasion up close to the bank. Your best bet for baits is crappie jigs, small crank baits, or mealworms.

  • CarpCarp can be seen all over the lake on the surface in the mornings and afternoons, if that’s what you’re going for head on out and try your luck.

    Boat Launch conditions: Private boat launch is closed until further notice.

    The speed limit on land and water is 10mph. Before launch all boats will be inspected for Quagga. Boats must be CLEAN and DRY. If you do not pass inspection you will not be able to launch for that day. The launch fees are $5.00 per day. Motorboats, kayaks, canoes, float tubes and sailboards must pay fee.

    The lake is open daily for fishing and boating. Park hours for fishing and day use are from sunrise to sunset. No swimming at Lake Morena Park. Motorboats and rowboats are available for rent 7 days a week. Motorboats rent for $30 M-F and $50 S-S. No reservations taken on boats. Fishing permits M-F for Adults $5.00, Youth age 10 to15 $2.00, Seniors 62+ $3.00. Weekends and Holidays for Adults $7.00, Youth $3.00, Seniors $5.00.

    South Shore Campground: Reservations are recommended for camping at the main campground on the South Shore. This campground offers partial hookup sites (water and electric), as well as several developed sites. The main restroom offers hot showers and flush toilets, and is handicapped accessible. Lake Morena dump station is currently-OPEN.

    North Shore Primitive Campground: This campground is closed until further notice. In order to protect the integrity of Lake Morena Watershed the following restriction are now in effect:
