Lake Conditions- Surface temperature is 52.6 Fahrenheit. The water visibility is about 2 to 4 ft. Currently we are drafting 20 million gallons a day.
** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in the Lake Morena area so be sure you acquire one before you arrive. The State Licenses is required.
Trout – On Wednesday C.D.F.W. brought us another load of Rainbows. This week has been on the quieter side for Trout, but with weather like this it’s a good day to fish! Gordon Stanly of El Cajon had a 6.12 Trout on a gold kastmaster in the dam area.
Bass – The Bass have still been showing up in the 5lb and up class and with the Trout plant the chance to land a big one should be good. Nobody in the creel for bass this week, but still getting reports from anglers that the bigger bass are still active and eating swim baits.
Catfish – The Catfish have started to bite again! Mostly people fishing for Trout have been picking them up but it is good to see them active. They have not been too large but they are there.
Bluegill – The Gills have not been around.
Crappie – Crappie are not showing either.
