Another CDFW stock on 12/18 with 400 lbs of rainbow trout let loose on the lake. Other than that the week has been good with Jacob Barclay landing one 5lb 11oz and one 6lb 8oz with two more in the 2 or 3lb range to round out his stringer. All the trout he caught were on kastmasters in Geezer’s Cove and by Paradise. Night crawlers have also been a very good bait reported by the anglers on the shore.
With the trout stock the bass bite should turn on again, but for a lot of anglers it never turned off, just slowed. At any rate anglers who are still throwing swim bait are having the best luck, and not just luck, they are landing big fish. Come give it a shot! It’s the time of year when persistence pays off.
The catfish have gone silent. Or it may be the fact that we have not had anyone fishing for them this week.
Carp are still schooling around the boat dock and throughout the lake. Nobody has reported catching any but they are around if that is your target.
