Bass biting unusually well at Poway for this time of year

Warm and then cool weather this week has made fishing more interesting. Even experienced anglers are reaching deeper into their bag of tricks to coax out the trout. Bass have been biting unusually well and as usual catfish are there for the patient angler with the right bait (hint; it’s chicken livers or mackerel)

  • The Youth Fishing Derby is approaching fast, it is February 8th. It is a fun event for everyone every year and there are lots of great prizes and raffle items. You can prepay to reserve a boat at the concession stand. There is a free fishing seminar for kids Feb. 7th, and camping is available.
