San Vicente Reservoir Fish Report – 8/6/17

  • Content Ad
  • The water temperature at the surface is 84 degrees.

In the early morning hours there are a few breaking fish in open water. These fish though have been difficult to catch. Anglers are having better success concentrating on fish in 25-40′ of water with Texas rigs, drop shots, and jigs.

Most of the bass have been in the 1.5 – 2.5 pound range with the occasional 4 or 5 pounder coming in.

Hand-sized bluegills are still on top, with 1/2 of a nightcrawler fished with a split shot producing panfish. Other than a few redear mixed in with the bluegill, the other species were no-shows last week.
