Santee Lakes Fish Report – 8/29/17

    The catfish bite remains consistent. Most of these fish are being caught on mackerel. Bluegill are biting on just about anything. This has definitely been the most caught fish this week. The bass have slowed down slightly. most are being caught on soft plastics in and around structure.

    Stockzilla is just about a month away! We will be stocking 3,500 lbs. of catfish divided into all 7 lakes. Each lake will have tagged fish for prizes, so keep an eye on the fish’s gill plate for a metal tag. The newly redone bank of Lakes 2 and 3 will also be open for the event.

    Advance permit sales for the event are available now in the General Store as well as special Stockzilla packages!

    Santee Lakes is a small set of 7 man-made reservoirs in Santee, CA about 17 miles northeast of downtown San Diego. Rainbow trout are stocked heavily in the winter months, and channel catfish are stocked equally heavily the rest of the year.
