  • The average water temperature at Santee Lakes is 80.1•F. Most lakes have a water clarity around 4 feet.

    Catfish are still biting well on mackerel and shrimp. Bluegill are biting extremely well and have been taking just about any live worm you can throw at them. The bass are starting to get pickier so dig deep in your tackle box and try something new.

    Santee Lakes is a small set of 7 man-made reservoirs in Santee, CA about 17 miles northeast of downtown San Diego. Rainbow trout are stocked heavily in the winter months, and channel catfish are stocked equally heavily the rest of the year.
