Lake Skinner Fish Report – 5/14/17

  • The water temperature is between 64-65 degrees. Water flow is going pretty good, almost at full capacity.  Catfish stocking began on May 12th.

    • Bluegill: No action
    • Carp: No action
    • Striper: Medium Action. Striper can be caught with umbrella rigs, spooks and nightcrawlers over by the East End.
    • Catfish: Medium Action. Anglers are catching catfish over by Ramp 2 using chicken livers, anchovies, and Gulp!®.
    • Largemouth Bass: Medium Action. Small dark colored plastics and nightcrawlers are producing.
    • Trout: Still seeing some 2-3 pounders, caught mostly near the dam and inlet. They’re hitting nightcrawlers, Powerbait® in rainbow colors, and chicken liver.

    Stephen Ty Yang of Long Beach caught a 9.7 pound striper on Saturday over the inlet while fishing with a sardine.
