The 30 anglers checked at Lake Sutherland last Friday, Saturday and Sunday reported catching 24 largemouth bass to 5.35 pounds, 6 bluegill, and 3 crappie. That 5.35 pound bass was caught and released by Trevor Field of Escondido on Sunday while fishing a brush hog on the lake’s west bank.
With the water level sitting 63.48 feet below spill level the launch ramp is not available. The surface temperature is reported at 69 degrees.
Lake Sutherland is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday each week. Float tubes and carry-on boats are permitted, but each must pay a launch fee.
