The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has been conducting a preliminary study on the survival rate of bass with barotrauma at Diamond Valley Lake. Barotrauma is an adverse effect on bass that are caught in deep water which surface faster than their body can naturally equalize. It is the fish version of the “bends.”
The CDFW is set to publish their report soon, and George Kramer of kramergonefishing.com got ahold of the report for an early review. Check out Kramer’s take on the findings, and what it might mean for tournament bass fishing in the west during the winter and summer months.
