CDFW Trout Truck Returning to San Diego

After almost a 2-month absence, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has scheduled some upcoming trout plants in San Diego County.

  • The CDFW Trout Truck will be making stops at Chollas, Cuyamaca, and Murray at some point next week with undisclosed amounts of trout. They will also be planting at Jennings and Skinner the following week.

Chollas, Cuyamaca, and Murray had each last received CDFW trout the last week of January, while Skinner and Jennings had not received trout yet this season from the CDFW.

This will almost assuredly go down as the worst year on record for CDFW trout plants in San Diego – with only 9 plants having occurred so far. Last year, which was also a below average year for trout plants by the CDFW, there were nearly 50 occurrences of trout plants from the State of California by this point.

Miramar, which has typically received trout the last few years has yet to receive a plant.
