Kramer claims Kevin VanDam’s reign over the bass world is over

George Kramer’s latest blog on is titled “Kissing KVD Good-bye” and says in more ways than one, we’ve already seen the best of Kevin VanDam.

  • At 46 years old, VanDam has been on the professional tour for 24 years, amassing over $6 million dollars in tournament winnings (most all time). He has won 4 Bassmaster Classics (tied for most all time), collected 7 BASS Angler of the Year titles (most all time) and even threw in an FLW Angler of the Year Title in 2001 for good measure, despite rarely competing on that tour. His 20 BASS tour-level wins are also most of all time.

But many credit his dominance in the sport to his physical superiority over the field. Anglers and fans alike thought that even if he wasn’t “on the fish” as good as the next guy, he could overcome that by fishing harder – making more casts, and grind his way to victory.

Kramer says, those days are over. Do you agree?
