  • We fished the “Horseshoe” area today and the bruiser yellowtails were out in full force. We had 5-7″ sardines for bait, and the fish were a bit line shy to start. After about 30 minutes we noticed one of our rods was getting bit over all of the rest.

That rod was holding 25 lb Izorline XXX smoke, while the other rods were rigged with regular 30 lb Izorline. We quickly rigged top shots of the 25 lb XXX on all of the rods and that got everyone hooked up.

The bite continued until about 1 pm, when our fish box was stuffed to the brim with big yellowtail. The smallest yellowtail we had was 22 pounds, with the largest going 38 pounds!

It was another great day on the water; great weather and great people!
