Offshore Fish Report from Sonny Dawson of Exotics Fishing

  • We left the marina about 4:30 am this morning and got some really nice live bait from the bait barge. We headed offshore about 30 miles and the water was on the cooler side so we couldn’t find much going on as far as the fish we were looking for.

I changed the course and we headed up to another spot that produces good quality fish and doesn’t see as much fishing pressure. I spotted a good looking kelp paddy and had the guys bait sardines and drop on it, within minutes everyone is hooked up on dorado and yellowfin tuna. The fish were in a frenzy, jumping out of the water and chasing our bait all around the boat.

We fished that paddy for about 2 hours and the guys had the time of their lives. We had enough fish for 10 guys so we decided to call it a day and headed in before 3 pm. Overall, another great day on the water with plenty of fish to go around.

Book a trip today, don’t wait.
