Offshore Fish Report from Captain Alan Clowers

  • Offshore report for August 24th – September 1st: The fishing remains good to excellent, we have been getting limits on most of the trips. Lots of yellowfin around with a mix of yellowtail and dorado in the counts. We are getting them a variety of ways; blind jig stops, bird schools, and breaking fish…with a few good paddies mixed in.

Some days we run into a kelp padding that is loaded and its on stop shopping, but other days we get get stopped by the jigs and the fish come to the boat where we load up with bait fish. Other days its all breaking fish on birds. On those we slide up on the fish and once we get one hooked we can keep them at the boat.

This continues to be the best year I have seen in a long time and there is still no end in sight.

The water temperature is anywhere from 70 to 75 degrees and purple blue. I’m looking forward to a good 8 additional weeks of this good fishing, so you still have time to get a trip on the books. I do have some openings available.
