Saltwater Report from Captain Clowers

Now that we are over the winter hump, we have had real nice weather and the yellowtail have responded. They are on the move up the line, with a big volume of 20-25 lb yellowtail down at the Finger Bank and on the Rosarito Flats, with some at the Coronado Islands as well.

  • We’re finding them on the meter and targeting them on yo-yo irons in blue/white and scrambled egg colors with some on the Rapalas as well. Once we find them, it’sĀ a great bite.

In addition to the yellowtail, there is also some good rockcod fishing down there as well. The water down there is in the low 60s and clean.

With winds 10 knots and below and this warm beautiful weather, now is the time to get on these fishing. Give me a call if you want to get on some good grade fish!
