Tips on gear selection for good tuna fishing offshore from Pride/Aztec Sportfishing

  • Content Ad
  • Just returned from a 2-day trip. Offshore fishing for bluefin, yellowfin, yellowtail and a few dorado continues to be good with tuna up to 45-50 pounds being boated.

Anchovies and sardines have been the bait of choice so rod/reel combos of 20-50# line are recommended as well as hook sizes from#2 to 3/0. Flourocarbon leaders or top shots are also a good idea as they provide higher abrasion resistance and less visibility than mono.

Check the schedule at Seaforth for current trips, or call me direct for charters 760-889-2090. Thanks Pride & Aztec Captain & Crews.
