Drone fishing for tuna [video]

  • A small group of anglers in Western Australia have gained fame and worldwide acclaim by documenting themselves using a consumer drone to fish for longtail tuna from the beach.

Anglers have been utilizing drones for the last couple years while they fish, most just to film from unique aerial views, and others to catch small fish like bluegill – but these gents in Australia are pioneering a new way of big game fishing.

    Check it out…

I don’t think it’ll be too long before the local fleet starts dipping their toes into this keep of angling, if for no other reason than to have a precision guided “kite rig” and not be at the mercy of the wind for direction.

The anglers originally uploaded the video to Facebook on April 28th – and since it’s received over 500,000 views on YouTube.

While they make it look easy in the video, it was said to take 5 days of fishing before they landed one of these fish.
