  • Everingham Bros. Bait Co. which operates bait barges on San Diego Bay, Mission Bay and Dana Point has announced price increases set for June 1st.

On a notice posted on their website, Everingham Bros. stated, “Due to the increased cost of labor, insurances, maintenance and durable goods to operate and maintain our vessels and equipment, Everingham Bros. Bait Co. must raise our prices. Our goal has always been and still will be to provide the best live bait available.”

A 1/2 scoop (approximately 5 pounds) and full scoop (10 pounds) will both see a $10 increase, from $25 to $35 and $35 to $45 respectively. A 1 1/2 scoop of bait will cost $75 beginning June 1st, a $20 jump over the current rate. And cured bait, when available, will now run $165 for the 3 scoop minimum, up $30 from the current price.
