CDFW stocked Murray and Miramar today

The CDFW dropped 400 pounds of rainbow trout at both Murray and Miramar today. They are also scheduled to stock San Diego City Lakes’ El Capitan and Lower Otay this week, but those haven’t been confirmed yet. In addition to the City Lakes, the CDFW is scheduled to stock Chollas, Cuyamaca, Lindo, and Morena this week.

  • CDFW trout average 1/2 pound each, and usually do a great deal to stir up both big bass and big catfish. There have been several trophy bass taken at Miramar this year by anglers fishing swimbaits like the 8″ Huddleston, which almost perfectly resembles the size of CDFW Hatchery trout. There have also been several big striped bass catches at nearby Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet recently, with fish up to 32 pounds caught by swimbait anglers.
